| Hi Nice to be part of this group; not many chances of sharing topics with people who love music from the performer/composer point of view. My name is Gustavo and I'm from..... planet earth..... he he he My interest (or should I say pasion) for music started when 6 yo and studied until university & Engineering and then family and later kids caught my time.....it is only about 8 years ago I re-started, always as a performer (piano and keyboard, 90% classical and 10% ambience).... I love Bach and anything that smells or sounds baroque..... then decided to study through internet theory of music again, from basics, harmony, musical forms and now counterpoint... and hopefully later fugue, instrumentation and orchestration..... this has made me take a look into composing (something I never cared since I thought I did not have the ability for it) and... wow, what experience that is.... once you know the theory there is 75% of what you need, the other 25% is a short inspiration and bum... there you've got your composition, he he he.... so, now my performer life may be coming to an end...... specially since DAW sequencers and VST instruments are available for so cheap..... so, now I am recording 1 CD on Bach's work and another with pieces I am composing and recording.... mainly chamber/orchestral/synth Baroque and ambiance..... well, that's it.... too long for a presentation, he he he... you bet whenever I have a doubt or I want to share something I will come here....... BTW, congratulation to Stevel, nice stuff you are hanging in here.... very useful. Cheers |
