I just remembered that I had made an account here ages ago but never posted on it lol, so here it goes:

I'm a guy, fifteen years old. I like to play piano and I also try to do my best composing for it. I play works by classical composers like Chopin Beethoven etc... However I fail at composing since I've been tryin for several years but never finsihed a single "work". I just improvise some stuff, write it down, realise all of its flaws (why the hell can I never write anything that works out rythmically? it's always FIVE bars instead of four, and trying to change it just ruins everything, but keeping the 5 bar melodie gives an unfinished feel to it etc etc), then put it away. Then I start improvising something new and then, here we go again, realise flaws, put away, make new etc etc etc

Well well, now I got a lot of stupid stuff that I don't know what to do with, maybe the forums here could help me get going with it/give me solutions etc?

Almost all the things I write are similar one way or another. There are some basic ideas I have that I find impossible to move away from. i.e. everything I write contains a lot of, umm, dunno what it's called "minor 7ths"? (fm7, c#m7 etc), and it has always done even since I started writing when I didn't even know what "chord" meant lol. I guess I just like the sound of them. I also find it very hard not to write in minor, most of the stuff I write tend to be slow, heavy and "minor-y". There are also some rythmic stuff that keeps returning in my music. I suppose you could say my stuff sounds romantic but I havent seen a lot of fm7, em7, c#m7 etc in Brahms/beethoven?? well I dont really care anyway.

So if you want post a reply here or something I guess.

PS. What kind of post should I make if I want to post a lot of crap unfinished piano music if I need help to finish/deciding whats good etc? (Reason I'm asking is because people seem to be hating each other on these forums lol, since a lot of "here is my song, comment please" posts seems to be ignored or get about one reply, being the original poster saying WHY HAVENT ANYONE ANSWERED IS IT SO BAD BOHOO)

You can post your stuff here for others to see/listen to. It has been quiet here lately, not sure why. Anyway anything you can do to liven the placeup will be well receivd by me. By the way 5 bar phrases are cool as well.

Could make a better example: I improvise a melody, I might play it for a month, before I finally decide to write it down, and then, and ONLY then, I discover that there is an 8th note missing to make part of the melody to be complete rythmically. so suddenly everything that is after and should begin ON the beat, begins off the beat, until I make another mistake and make part of the melody too short etc etc

btw, yeah seems like this community is dead, got any suggestions for another site I could check out? =)

Maybe, if I get any replies I dont have anything finished though, its just 2-10 bars of music each, stuff I've improvised but have no idea how to connect with other music, or stuff that has that rythmical problem I talked about last post.
Another thing with my music that I find disturbing is that it isn't "catchy" It seems like I am not able to write melodies that are memorable at all... they just go in through one ear and out through the other.
