Mozart Symphonies

Whats your favourite?

Everyone loves no.40, but what about some of his less famous ones.

I like no.17 the most as he starts with a really simple theme and in his development section he uses canon, fugue the works!

My fav is his Jupiter Symphony No.41. He uses simple melodic material in a grand motivic fashion. In both the first and last movments he uses beautiful contrapuntal technique, more so in the last movement.

Can't go wrong with the titled symphonies like "Haffner", "Lintz" and such.
Also I really like, No.28 a lot and No.29.

I agree I love his "Jupiter", "Haffner" and "Lintz" symphonies. Great works,

Has anyone listened to his first symphony? I was shocked that he could compose that when he was 12!

My favorite is the 40th.

But, regarding the slow movement, I think that the Andante of the Jupiter is the most extraordinary symphonic movement that Mozart has ever created.
