CDs - recording and distributing

Does anyone know of an "A-Z guide" to recording and distributing CDs in the UK please? All the elements are in place - wonderful music (not mine I hasten to add), access to a recording studio and technicians, fantastic performers and someone with distribution experience, but it's the nitty-gritty that's holding us back - contracts, payments, copyright, royalties, that sort of thing. Does anyone know of a web site or book which covers these aspects?
