Ah, so sorry! I only noticed the last post, but I'm listening to your arrangement of the tune I posted ^^;

I like how you went about the dynamics in the piece, because I really only made one theme and you've gone nicely about with it ^_^

Great job, really

--EDIT--
I decided to have another go at it, and even though it's a long way from finished, here's what I've got so far ^_^ (attachment)

File Type: mp3 upbeat ftw 2.mp3 (872.0 KB, 2 views)

It is a pain when the midi file is all over the place when placed into sibelius/finale. So much work to change things! Can anybody help me?

did you make sure to click tracks to staves or instruments(?) to staves respectively?

But as there were only two staves I thought that would be okay. It is more the note values that go everywhere. I will try again

I started with the midi file. It was a little rough with a jumpy rhythm, so I smoothed it out some.

The sheet music I posted is the only one I know of. I didn't change much else. I changed the piano part a little bit in one area.

I use NoteWorthy Composer, but I'm sure jumping values are the same. With NoteWorthy in any case, you can change the resolution of the midi file. The lower the resolution, the less exact the rhythm will be. But if the resolution is too high, you get funky notes & rests. I've also noticed triplets & triplet rhythms are not transcribed very well. If you study a rhythm long enough, you can guess what the triplet rhythm is supposed to be.

Maybe they will fix these problems with the next generation midi, or whatever is coming next.

Let's say you all have to write the intro theme to a random anime in the genre of your liking and see how it turns out ^_^

It may be upbeat, dramatic, rock or funk, anything, really
However, since I've never ever seen an anime with a classical introtheme (I have seen them mixing it in though), I don't think that'd be the best genre to pick (but if it works, it works ^_^)
Ok, I've sobered up since last night. So...this is nothing like Aephion's tune but inspired by the idea/challenge.
Perhaps a little tongue in cheek but wasn't so easy to put together. I did use some sequences more than once which is a first time for me, I think.

The structure is simple: Intro-A-coda

I have some way to go learning how to change a synth patch in the middle of things hence the scoring doesn't vary much.

Happy New Year, all.
Cheers,
Reith.
