| How do I write a fugue? Help me, I am sinking in a sea of lack of knowledge! My compositional skills are very limited, having had no kind of formal education in that diriection. I have a dream and that is to write a fugue. These pieces seem to be very confusing but from what I can gather they are basically a set of themes strung together. The question is, how do I do it? :EDIT: Title edited for clarity and thread moved for appropriateness by Thorolf Last edited by Boneman : 17-12-2006 at 07:04 PM. |

| If you'd like, my music teacher specializes in Fugues and is quite well educated about counterpoint. I could ask him some questions for you if you'd like ![]() |
