Rickshaw!

He is thin, but not weak. His clothes are dirty and falling apart, but he doesn't mind. His goal is to get to the destination, by using every steel muscle in his body and he will not rest till he gets there. Nothing can get in his way, there are no obstacles he cannot overcome. There is no heat, cold, rain or a storm that will stop him. He will hit bumpy roads and steep hills, suffering great pain along the way. He will fly down the hills, overcome with joy, only to get ready for the next battle.

His endurance is endless. He is a man-machine. He is the Rickshaw!

Rickshaw!

Lots of nice details. A little bit anti-composed, but that’s ok!

Some of the ideas are really beautiful!

This is cool, I could imagine it on a movie. It has a good strong theme that I will be whistling all day!

The music and the description fit so well together! It has a nice "hard" and "determined" feel to it. I could definitely see this as part of a movie scene.

It almost sounds Videogame-like.

It's very nice, I like the way you build it up. However, it does seem to me like it's a bit too long? Perhaps if you get a changing melody on top of it before the part it gets weird, it wouldn't feel that way. I love the rhythm though! Did you play the drums too?

Thorolf, what's anti-composing?

It’s just my own term for the situation where the composer doesn’t aim for a typical “composing” approach to making music, i. e. utilizing the ideas to the “natural” amount, not let any idea run for “too long” or “too short”.

Also, it describes the situation where the composer obviously doesn’t care about the “seams” in the piece to be visible: It can be just a cut’n’paste between unrelated musical ideas. A typical “Punk” attitude. The ending of the piece in question is typical for my idea of “anti-composing”.

I firstly used the term in my user review of Plug’s groundbreaking release “Drum’n’Bass for Papa” here under my DJ name Timing X.

Regards

Re: Rickshaw!

Quite entertaining but why the unprocessed slayer? It sounds hideous.
