Hard-core folk I can't upload it, for some reason, but here's a myspace page where you can check the tunes out. The band is called "Basco" and we do weddings christenings and Bar mitzvahs I wrote three of the numbers, and the guitar player wrote the one with the trombone in it. Enjoy ![]() http://www.myspace.com/bascoband The tunes will play when you open the site.

That's awesome! They have a really great sound although I'm not sure what's so hardcore about them. I listened to coals of newcastle and I am listening to the rest right now. Which ones did you write?

Nice stuff! My main complaint is actually about instrumentation/production. The trombone stands out as far too dry, when playing bass drones and lines. This is mainly because trombone in general sounds dry and lonely in such instrumentations, but this could be alleviated with soaking it in the production. What would be ideal, was to extend the quartet with a bass clarinet/contra alto clarinet player, as these instruments have suitable punch and roundness to fill out the bass, and go especially well alongside with accordeon bass. With this kind of doubleing, the ’bone would indeed sound powerful and raw, as I presume is intended! ![]() Also, I fail to see the “Hard core” aspect, ’tis just ordinary, albeit well arranged/composed folk music, isn’t it? ![]() Regards

Very nice music! It reminds me I still have lots of Irish music hiding somewhere... I agree with Thorolf about the Trombone, it seems like he is a little bored I wonder how this music fits with Bar-mitzvahs?Keep up the Good work!

Thanks for the comments guys. I wrote the trombone-less numbers, and the trombone number was written by the guitar player and a friend of ours from another band. To be honest, I don't really know what I meant by hard-core. Much as I hate to admit it, I think I was lapsing into internet speak... Anyway. I'm sitting booking jobs for them right now, so if anyone has a bar mitzvah they need a party band for, then drop me a line ![]()
