Jäähyväisbiisi (Itsensämasentamismix)

This is something I finished recently. It's a eurodance/epic trance rehash of a slightly older track I made a some time ago. Most of the mid-90's eurodance cheesyness is there on purpose.

MaestroX will become famous soon enough
Cool, very eurodance!

I think you did a good job on the mixing, its very well produced (a skill i'm lacking in). It seems like a track that would be played in the clubs or on a chill out mix cd

Very nice.

Just a passing comment...the LPF at 1.00 & 1.48 fades down some of the important musical content - the pseudo-plucked-strings sound - taking the brightness from it a bit. But since you're the composer and that's what you want, fine.

Agree with Maestrox about it being good club music/good production.

Yes.. The first one's due to the "structure" of the track being adapted from the basic epic trance formula and is more for recycling existing material. The second one exists on purpose, to bring the superwave (strings) more into the listener's attention (i spent a lot of time crafting that string pattern, goddamit ).

And also because i LOOOVE filter sweeps.

OT: Interesting how you mention the two leads being 'pseudo plucked strings sounds' - it's all about how one's used to hearing things, i guess. Not exactly how I would've gone around categorising them.

I don't have much expertise in this genre, but it sounded very danceable. I really got into the beat, which I think is important in this genre. The soundscape is colourful and interesting enough not to sound numbing. I have a problem with those 'numbing' songs in the electro/techno/dance genre because I always kind of drift away from the music and get bored. This, however, was not the case with this song. It keeps up my interest through the whole piece.

I liked the relaxing fade-in of the beginning. In my opinion this song has some clichés typical of this genre, but I don't know if it's proper to call them cliché, since all those beat buildups etc. are such an integral part of the genre. It really didn't bother me.

The only real, but minor, critique from me would be that the lead synth's melodies could have some more hook or catchiness in them, but they did contribute to the certain relaxed feeling throughout the piece. Nice, good quality dance music!

In my experience, "smart" music rarely is danceable. You don't want things to be in a constant state of flux if you're just interested in moving your ass.

That's all i have to say about that.
