In case of solo bass, I can't recommend Spectrasonics Trilogy enough. It blows every other bass library to an unknown non-euclidean dimension, IMHO. |

| Are you aiming for realistic MIDI mock-ups or do you need the contrabasses just for composing aid of sorts? In latter case you could try for example Synful Orchestra or Garritan Personal Orchestra. For MIDI mock-ups nothing beats the EWQLSO except VSL probably... |

| Anyone tried Notion yet? It comes with a good sized, basic orchestral sound library that you can add to by specific sections. |

| I've got the demo, it aint that impressive to be honest. Not bad interface but if you've already got something your happy with, no need to bother with it |
