Re: Me to XP

With great care. How much stuff have you got to back up? I regularly do my music, photoshop and word stuff - fits on about 4 DVDs. After you've taken a backup check a few documents before you start messing with the OS just to check the backups really are usable.

Does M.E. use F.A.T or NTFS...if you copy documents from a back up taken from a FAT organisation, will they be ok in NTFS? Mine seem to be - I've had documents going back to 1991 (.doc, .psd .jpg etc) and loaded em into this new windozy wonder and they seem ok.

Re: Me to XP

Transfering for a FAT to an NTFS filesystem shouldn't cause any problems, as well as transfering from any other filesystem (ext2/3, ReiserFS and the like).

Boneman, I would suggest backing up only the things you want, try avoiding from having the new OS have useless files all around. At least, that's the way I like it

Re: Me to XP

Well, I hear you loud and clear over here…

But seriously, you have to give us some info on your setup if you want help. Does your sound come out through a sound card, or via the built-in audio out?

Regards
