| Re: Tried By The Square Hi Ryan. That's a well-crafted and expressive piece. It reminds me at times of Copland's "domestic" orchestral writing, suggesting the grandeur of the American West: open prairies, collosal steppes - it's big sky music. It can stand well enough on it's own, but I hear it as movie music for an epic film - something like "Dances With Wolves." Very well done! Cheers, John. P.S. Don't you hate those vocal patches that sound like the chipmunks are performing your music? Also, what is the significance of the title? Are you just using the expression, or does it have a deeper meaning? Masons frequently use the phrase in their mission statements - is it a Masonic reference? Or perhaps a direct reference to "The Scarlet Letter?" |
