Herakleitos (Brass Band) Hi everyone, Long time since I've been here, mainly due to health problems, but I'm up and about (a bit at least). Herakleitos is a piece I've written for a brass band I played in. It's about a river, from spring to end. And there is a part about the river Styx(a river flowing to the underworld). I just wanted to get suggestions to improve it before I let it proof-read it by the conductor. Should I leave the fanfare-bit in? I don't know it sounds so silly to start off with a glockenspiel. Bar 7: there shouldn't be a ritenuto, just Sibelius acting up (got it later also with fermata's133: dunno that part always falls rock-bottom. I have a mp3-file but it is bad, tubular bells being off tune somehow and other problems. So don't base your opinons on it ![]()

Re: Herakleitos (Brass Band) I'll get a chance to listen tonight, but as far as Tubular Bells go, I've had the same problem. I believe it's not a true problem, just the fact that programs like Finale and Sibelius "autofix" the pitch difference, but when creating files such as midi and mp3, the program doesn't add the "autofix". Every so often I'll have the problem. Not sure how to remedy other than changing the instrument in the map.

Re: Herakleitos (Brass Band) Well you have not said if it has made it to the music stands yet? If not please check the playing registers! Some of them are extreme to say the least! Then there is the over use of the glock. Still if the band is amazing they might be able to get round some of it.
