The Hunt (Concert Band)

Here's a new piece I've written for Concert Band. Let me know what you think. Attached are the usual, pdf score, midi, and Finale file (Print Music 2006).

Let me know what you guys (and gals) think. If you have any problems with it, let me know and we can look at it. I'd like to make this the best it can be before submitting it for publication.

Nice job, Dude. I love how you repeat the melody many times and it just sounds so cool. You should compose more pieces for Concert Band. There were a couple of instances where some of the chords/notes sounded off by a little bit. Other than that, it was good.

I agree that there are a few points where the chords don't line up with the melody. However, if you take a good look at the two lines together, you'll see at least 85% of the time the note causing the problem is in the melody, and it's nothing more than either a passing or neighbor tone.

I've touched up the score a bit, fixing some typos of dynamics (some parts didn't have them when they should), adding rehearsal numbers (always good), and some other stuff. Nothing that changes how the file sounds, just the aesthetic appeal of the score. I'll post that later tonight.

I plan on submitting it for consideration to publish on Monday. Here's to hoping it goes good!

And if someone wants a piece for Concert Band, I'd love to compose to someone's idea. I think it's neat to see a combination of someone's idea and my interpretation.
