«Excitation orbitale» for Violin and Orchestra

Hi everybody
Although I didn't receive very much feedback about my Symphony in C, I try to share with you another composition of mine. It's not a study work for one time, but my most important «serious» composition up to now.

You'll find it here:
http://music.menna.ch/mp3/excitation_orbitale.mp3

Hope, you'll enjoy it.
Greetings
Daniel

Although I prefer Tonal music I can appreciate the work that has been put into this piece.

I have some of your music on my ipod and quite enjoy dipping into it now and then!

Keep up th great work Daniel!

Re: «Excitation orbitale» for Violin and Orchestra

A chilling piece of atonal and strange rhythmic ideas. I loved it and I wish I could hear this with a real orchestra because I know how much better it would sound with human interpretations. Even in saying that, however, I was engrossed in the music from start to finish and loved the interactions between the soloist and the orchestra. It didn't at all seem to me as if it dragged on or seemed tedious which is a big obstacle when composing atonal, modernistic music, so well done. Percussion was very appropriately used, and the solo was absolutely stunning.

Overall, a superb piece of music and a great contribution to the modern violin repertoire.

I really liked this piece! Great job! I would love to see the score, if your willing to share it.

Thanks a lot. I must I admit I like this work, too. I think it is the best piece of music I wrote until now - and I don't know whether I will be able to do such a thing again. We'll see; inspiration can be a cruel thing :-)

Re: «Excitation orbitale» for Violin and Orchestra

good work, strong tension with a tender finale.
it holds many variation. did stravinsky ever do something like that, in his entire catalogue?
no.
why stravinsky? the piece is atonal (no free atonality like xenakis)
without focus of dissonance. which i like normally more (takemitsu)

honestly it is a rich piece, it keeps one occupied. congratulations.
you are very talented.

«Skeleton orbitale» for Violin and Orchestra

11:03! was kann man da alles sagen.
