Sandman

"Slumber Party" is the name of my ballet. There does not seem to be room for one whole dance. However, the overture and three of the dances can be found at www.myspace.com/mightymidi

First listening to your overture it aint bad since you havn't been "formally" taught music theory or composition. I find the overture to be a bit slow in "moving" the music along. It is very static, it picks up near the end but dosn't fully introduce this ballet. I recommend you look up Mozarts overtures for his operas, very fine works.
Your piece the sandman I though was better as it utilised the instruments alot better. Orchestration of the instruments was a little weak though, (doubling the clarinet and the strings in the same octave). But overall an effective piece.
These are good works that could be very good with some of the errors ironed out. Good job since you have never been taught
