handwritten score. attn: Stenir Hi again. Here's a page scanned this morning - slightly on the neater side apart from a coffee splash in the bottom left. But, ok, I'd love to see it in a computer format. Thanks! Reith Ps: Mods - if this isn't the right forum, please move it ad lib. Cheers. Last edited by reith : 17-02-2007 at 10:36 AM.

I'll get it made up this afternoon (I can't do any of that stuff at work) and post it. A couple things: 1. What is that tempo description you have at the start? Languorous? 2. Do you want it left without a key signature? Other than that, I like the use of 7ths all around.

Sorry for the delay - been out playing carols. tempo is crotchet/quarter note = 56 or slower. Might be best to say =52 to 56. languorous really means lazy but I didn't want to put that as it could also be read as lethargic! Yes, without a key sig, please. It modulates a bit so would need changing every few bars, like Bb, then E. Thanks also for the comments! It was originally written a while ago, though. Look forward to hearing/seeing. Cheers, Reith.

I love the orchestration! I the piece gives me a sense that I'm listening to an overture to some kind of musical or light opera. I love the whimsy! The use of the triangle is such a nice touch. Its kind of unexpected but its such a nice touch!

Re: Light Overture Very nice score. It kind of reminds me of some light comical drama film. The mood is really movie-like. It was interesting to hear something not-so-abstract from you, and I think you did a good job here. It's hard for me to think up anything to complain about this, except, maybe that I couldn't perceive any really distinct theme. I think I noticed a reoccurring part but it kind of sunk into the colour of everything that's going on in this piece. However, I don't think it's a flaw, as the piece works well nevertheless. I liked the light bouncy rhythm you have in this piece. The instrumentation works rather well in my opinion. I don't think this would sound at all out-of-place in a movie. Very credible composition overall ![]()
