3) Vivaldi/Marc A. Charpentier
4) Scarlatti (Father and son)/Rameau

it's allways difficult for me to make comparisons, I have always fear of being to much general....but I'm listening a lot of Vivaldi recently..I'm loving it!

Baroque

My favorite baroque composers:

JS Bach, above all.

Then, Monteverdi, Cavalli, Purcell, Schütz, Buxtehude, Charpentier, Froberger, Louis Couperin and Händel.

Re: favorite baroque composer?

My current order is:

1. J.S.Bach
2. Vivaldi
3. Handel & Purcell (tied)

I haven't heard every piece by every composer though. I might find some great new pieces that changes the order. I only recently discovered Purcell.
