I'd have to add, for more recent stuff - try out Spock's Beard and Dream Theater...

Animefreek, every type of instrument takes talent to master. Guitar has it's masters and it's fakers - don't get caught up in that kind of pointless discusssion.

I'd be more inclined to put my praise in an instrumentalist who can master and play more than one style proficiently on their instrument - Kenny Kirkland and Jordan Rudess (Keith Emerson has to go in there too) on keyboards; Wynton Marsallis (for that matter, any of the Marsallis's) on trumpet. Rik Emmett, Trevor Rabin, Stanley Jordan ... oh, the list could go on ... for guitarists...

I'll stop now...

Re: does anybody like this song???

I don't know... It just didn't "sing" to me. To me, music needs to "sound good," which is highly subjective, I know.
There are some styles that I generally don't like, such as punk, country, and gansta rap. But even within those styles, there are always songs that seem to stand out because they sound good in some way.
This song didn't quite do it for me (I didn't get the video either).

Ok, but highly unoriginal. For the original, good (better!) stuff, check out the Dead Kennedys.

Hmmmm. The problem I had with it was that it wasn't noisy enough.

There are a lot of noise artists out there. Merzbow, Incapacitants. Keijo Haino. Government Alpha.

That's real noise. Mmmm. Tasty!

Meh, I didn't really like it at all. Just didn't have much color with it, even though I like some metal (Neoclassical mostly) This just wasn't quite what I like.

And coming from a guitarist, there really isn't much skill involved in this at all

As we drift off topic here, I would like to add the freaky forages of Brand X.
