Re: What CDs have you bought recently?

Most of what I buy these days is non-western. African, Indian, Middle Eastern....

Today I got in the mail Tiris : Sandtracks. A band from Western Sahara. Quite beautiful.

Victor.

Re: What CDs have you bought recently?

I just bought the Master and Commander film soundtrack (mainly for the classical pieces) and a Handel's Neuen Arien for my sister. Before that was the 170 CD Complete Works of Mozart, which I got for my sister's birthday last year November, but it is still 'new' because we're still listening to a lot of it for the first time as we leave the ones we really like in the cd player and repeat them for weeks at a time.

You must be her favourite brother.

I bought this box set last year for my own birthday. Still haven't made it all the way through.... (link doesn't work in Safari, use FireFox if you're on a Mac)

Oops, sorry Vic, I'm not her favourite brother; in fact I'm not a brother at all, I'm a sister. But her only sister, so there is no question of being a favourite.

I should have realized my username would be deceptive; Franz Luigi is my violin's name - I wanted to name it Luigi (after Boccherini) and my sister wanted to name it Franz (after Schubert), so we compromised. He has a last name too but it's too embarrassing to post publicly.

I'm not a big Schönberg fan myself, but I would love to get a Beethoven, Corelli, Bach, and a Boccherini set if one exists.
