Please...what is the name of this piece? I'm not very well versed in classical music, but I use many samples from this genre for my video editing work and I heard a sample from this news article: http://www.yahoo.com/s/745129 and it has touched me. If anyone knows which composition this is, please let me know. It sounds...perfect and I have to have it. p.s. I need to add that the piece I am interested in is associated with the video excerpt from the recently-exhumed remains of the last of the missing Romanov's. cheers

Re: Please...what is the name of this piece? I have, but there has been no reply. I was hoping it was a piece that would be very familiar to those who know music. Thanks for looking.

Re: Please...what is the name of this piece? Shame on you both! It's the opening of the 1812 overture and the tune is the Imperial Russian national anthem.
