Re: How good are your ears?

Hey, I wasn't even so bad. Scored Above "Very Good" (and below exceptional, but that's besides the point now) in both pitch- and tonedeaf test. For a 41 yr old that isn't at all bad I think....

Thanks for the tip Thorolf, was a fun test to do.

Re: How good are your ears?

I was very bad, I scored 61.1%, and I thought my hearing was actually fine. One thing I didn't get though, it asked at the end what was my tonedeaf test score, and I didn't take, nor could I find where I could take it. Hmm?

72.2% only...... But for a man with musical training less than 3 years, I think this is not that embarrassing.

Re: How good are your ears?

Oh, I've found the other test now. I took the tonedeaf one again, not remembering any of the results or tunes, and got 72.2% now. I think I was less concentrated yesterday. As for the other test, I could differentiate 12.9hz reliably in 500hz. Which I'm low-normal. Bah.... Anyway, I'm going to have my twin take those tests now, and see what he scores. He pretty much didn't have any musical training at all.

Re: How good are your ears?

OK, I've had both my twin and my brother take the tests, and both of them did better! My twin got 72.2% and 8.2hz (he doesn't have any kind of musical training), and my brother got 77.8% and 9.6hz (he's been playing the bass for 3 years now).

Re: How good are your ears?

On pitch perception, I had troubles with 3 hz, though I figured it out, then I had some troubles with 1.5 hz, but I figured it out, and I couldn't tell .75 worth shit.

I got 3.3 hz.

Re: How good are your ears?

88.9% - Bah I will concentrate harder and do it again sometime! I wanted 90% too sad huh? I'm certain it was memory not pitch that let me down on a couple of them.
