problem with page margins in Sibelius

Hi!

I finished my piano sonata in Sibelius 4.1 and try to get a nice layout, but I can't get the bottom staff within printing range. Especially the pedal markings don't seem to been seen by Sibelius. I attached a problem page with this post, does anyone know how to fix this? I'm trying to make a spacy score design, so only 5 systems on every page.

help needed...

Do you mean that Sibelius doesn't see the bottom pedal markings (that doesn't make sense to me) or that they are outside the range or your printer. Can you change the % size of the print out to, perhaps 95% size, so that everything retains the same relationships you have but are a bit smaller? This way they would be within the printer's borders.

Conversely, you could change the staff size in Sibelius so that everything woud be a bit smaller. I guess, moving the bottom margin in Sibeius might crowd the piece in a way you don't want. Of course, you could also change the paper size but this may not be what you want either. Also, I don't know whether your printer has the option to do larger page sizes.

Another option is to create a .pdf on a larger page size. You can have this printed at some place like Kinko's. If you have to, you can even cut the paper to the size you want.

I don't know if any of the above will help. Hope so.

Be Well,

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,
I found another solution that helped. I put the justification for the staves in engraving rules to 100 %. I was able to put the staves the way I wanted; very spacey and within printer range.

thanks for your suggestions.
