Finale 2008

sooo... has anyone else gotten their update? what do you think of it? There weren't a whole lot of adjustments made between '07 & '08 as far as I could tell.

Re: Finale 2008

Finale 2008 seems more stable than 2007; I get fewer (none so far) crashes on playback. The "mass mover" has changed, but I haven't figured out all the details yet. The help file is now accessed through the browser (I liked the PDF much better; there is a PDF available but it doesn't like through the help.)

There are some more NI instruments (I don't remember which.)

The menus and some details have changed.

I have not purchased my copy yet. The click and drag - is that for copying measures? That sounds great!

I read that it Finale2008 was supposed to include some world percussion. Do you guys know what type of world percussion is included?

Question Re: Finale 2008

Hi, folks,

I upgraded from Finale 2002 to 2008. Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't found the Mass Mover tool.

Also, can I insert a piece of music I've created in Finale into a Word document, and if so, how?

Thanks!

The Mass Mover is now the Selection Tool. It is somewhat different, but I haven't figured out the new stuff yet.

To put into word, one can either export an image or export an encapsulated PS file and convert to PDF and put the PDF into word (that's what I do.)

From the Setup Wizard instrument list, I found --> "bongo drums, timbales, conga drums" ... also maracas, castinets, "cabasa," panpipes... something called "theremin" and "ondes martenot" ... guiro, sitar, "gamba" ... "requinto" ...

There are probably more, and I'm not sure if some of those were already on there before.

Re: Finale 2008

Ondes martenot is not a type of world percussion, is it placed under the percussion instruments?
