so i want to take the .aiff file that i get when i send songs from Finale to iTunes and make it an MP3.

how do it do it?

Check the iTunes preferences and see if it gives you, under the Advanced Tab, an option to burn as MP3 - I know when you import, you can choose different compression schemes - MP3, AIFF, AAC, etc. - I think when you burn you can do the same thing.

If not, you need to have a converter program - do a Google search for AIFF to MP3 converter - you can probably find some freeware that will do it for you.

Yeah - you can. Just bring the file into iTunes, right-click (on Windows) or Ctrl-Click (Mac) on the file and there should be an item on the menu that pops up Labeled "convert to MP3" or something like that...

hey thanks guys. i figured it out. my iTunes was configured for AAC, not mp3. i shoulda figured that out
