Sound Libraries for Sibelius?

Can anyone recomend any sound libraries that I can use with Sibelius? The ones that come with it are ok but I want more and beter quality.

Any suggestions?

I've tried using EWQL with Sibelius and it didn't work.

I've got it to work, its difficult though. You have to get a program called "midi yoke" (try googling) and it sets up virtual midi cables which you can configure any standalone VST to work with Sibelius. I've got EWQL Orchestra and Stormdrum to work.

I'll look into them, I'll have to see what I can afford though. These things are expensive!

From the look of it GPO is cheapest?

I hear a lot of good things about the Garritan libraries. That Vienna Symphonic Library is awesome as well. They do cost a lot though.

Re: Sound Libraries for Sibelius?

Of course everyone will have their favourites but I would choose EWQL Symphonic Orchestra for strings. There are some dedicated string libraries such as Peter Siedlaczeks String Essentials but after some earlier side by side testing this month on my new computer, String Essentials is by far lacking. Also in my opinion the Garritan libaries are good (very good for the price) but I found the strings to be extremely lacking.

An update from a earlier post in this thread, with the arrival of sibelius 5 you should be able to use these sample libraries directly, so no work arounds . The thread is here: Sibelius 5

Re: Sound Libraries for Sibelius?

Thanks for the info MaestroX, I think I'll check out the update for sibelius, appreantly the ne version comes with over 2GBs of samples. I don't know how good the classical samples but I assume the collection would be in standard GM format.
