I'm on Mac 10.4.1 and I had trouble initially with the demos of both Finale and Sibelius. Finale would download but wouldn't open, Sibelius wouldn't download at all. I emailed the teckies at both places. Sibelius got back to me pretty quickly (I think within 24 hours) and they sent me a clickable link in the email which worked fine. I went through the tour and I was completely sold on it. Finale eventually got back to me two or three days later and asked me loads of questions (was I doing this, or that, or whatever...) I was very unimpressed but they were too late anyway - I'd already ordered Sibelius 5 and now it's arrived, I'm very very happy with it. Maybe Finale would have been just as good, I'll never know, but then nor do I care - I'm totally hooked on Sibelius!

This may be a pretty embarrasing question, but I don't understand how to use Sibelius. How do you actually compose with it? I joined it, and I just don't get it. Is there hardware you have to buy?

Also, does anyone know if/how I can upload files from Anvil Studio (the MIDI program I currently use) to Sibelius?

What do you mean with “I joined it”? Joined a website, or .rar archives from a warez site?

My mistake. I confused www.sibelius.com with www.sibeliusmusic.com.
