MaestroX will become famous soon enough
I don't think we should include commercial sites in our links area. What do other people think?

Depends, some (like this) provide products that can be hard to find or are particularly outstanding in providing for a niche market. Maybe use of these links should be limited to being used in reply to a specific question from a poster.

It's a chance to hear some highly unusual instruments like the (true) bass flute, the contrabass flute etc. That was all.

You won't hear those often - took a long time to find them. You won't find contrabass flute on any sample set yet.

However, as it seems to have evoked more of a commercial issue than a musical one, I'll erase it.

Apologies!

Probably best to erase the whole thread now.

Reith

Please repost!

I suggest linking to commercial sites is ok, if there is a non-commercial reason for it. If the reason for posting is stated, people understand that the poster doesn’t try to sell anything…

Myself would like to hear samples of bass and contrabass flutes.

Regards

I think this is always going to be a problem, now that success in this world is measured only in terms of money!

Many special insterest sites are either sponsored or parented or something by some commercial interest. Like if I wanted to talk about diplomas I might post a link to, say, the Associated Boards site in England... it's a charity, but it's still advertising and makes its money from exams and publications.

Every time someone mentions a commercial recording, a group or artists, they're in danger of advertising even if only as a recommendation.

So one can't win!
