Although I'll remain an occasional fan of UK punk, I've been delving into the past of rock of late. Some bands quite engaging...enough to say that the days of talent and craftsmanship (so far as performers go) seem to have gone. I knew about Led Zeppelin (1 and 2), Pink Floyd of the immediate post Barrett era when Geeson was working on Atom Heart Mother but just had my attention drawn to Free and Head Hands and Feet et al via an old Island sampler LP called "El Pea". There's real music here, almost symphonic at times.
Does anyone else have thoughts or recommendations from the mid-60s to mid-70s era?
