Midi mock-up hi! I was doing some tune for a friend of mine with Edirol HQ on Cubase 3 SX. I was bit on a roll and decided to convert my Sibelius of a work in progress to midi and import it, I put on all the channels but the result was horrendous. I got tubular bells that were out of tune, I think about wholetone, the same with piccolo trumpet, The cornets had sound "explosions" (like bwaaaaaaaa) the tempos were also wrong, but that's easily fixed. longer tones are warped, going lower pitch and then back up,... So I guess I'd better look for some other audio software(unless anyone knows how to fix all this, maybe getting better midi's from sibeliusscores? ) Anyone got any ideas, it doesn't need to have all the bells and whistles...

Re: Midi mock-up I don’t know what’s wrong with your midi export, but it certainly sounds like an error. I suppose that it all boils down to settings or bugs, so checking midi export settings, as well as getting the latest update in case of bugs may be a way to start. Slow computer shouldn’t have an impact in this matter, but it might. Is Sibelius able to play your score through midi, and make it sound right? If so, the midi export may need another look. In Finale, which I’m familiar with, I never experience any of these problems. ![]() Regards

Re: Midi mock-up in Sibelius it all is correct, and after I import the midi I checked the score and it looked allright, all in the right tune and such. As far as I saw it my computer could handle the recording and such...

Re: Midi mock-up Have you tried using your standard midi device to test the playback first? If its fine for that, then I'm guessing its a problem with the VST settings not the midi. I've used Edirol orchestra before and didn't have a problem.

Re: Midi mock-up I've already worked with midi files exported from sibelius into steibergs Nuendo (almost the same as you cubase SX) to play them back and render them via my Edirol HQ orchestral, but never had that much problems... Only some irritating things as for example the automatic instrument assign through a midi control message (but then I edited the instrument number controller out) - but that's bacause I didn't took the time to figure out how to export without those controller messages. The tempo's were always correct too...(at first I was a bit surprised to see a fermate as a big dip in the tempo track ;-) so I'm afraid I can't help you out... bye, frederik
