Automatic log out!

In case others have had trouble, I got automatically logged out (10.21am BST). I was trying to edit, clicked save and it said I couldn't do this operation or something until I log in (a nonsense since I had to be logged in to be editing at all).

The bar at the top still gave the "log out" button. But it had definitely logged me out itself. I couldn't add new messages, edit or anything!

I logged out then in again and, fine. But if I'm doing a big edit or post in future, I'll copy it onto the clipboard.

At the moment i'm having some problems with the servers, so some times the databases cut out. This might be what caused you to get logged out. I've brought the database problems to the attention of my host so hopefully it will be sorted out.

As a general safety precaution copy all your text to the clipboard or a text editing program.

Thanks

Cheers. Well, it happened to me again just now (roughly 10.40am BST) but I did pre-copy the post so I could log out and log in again.

It happens to me as well quite frequently, especially while writing personal messages. For this reason I usually precopy them on some other source, like Reith.

I don't know whether you managed to change anything, but logout seems to happen to me after a relatively short time (as compared to other similar sites) thinking about composing a message.

I'll look into it with the forum software makers. It could be a fault. I'll try and sort this out as soon as possible.
