nice but limited file sizes The file size for mp3s is a bit small. Even my short two-minute piano pieces run about 3 gigs. I'll just keep sending MIDIs which do fit the limits.

What would you recommend the file size limit be for mp3s?

Mp3 file size I don't know. My 3 minute piano tangos have been about 3 megs. The flute-harp piece (about 3 minutes) is around 4 megs. Of course, maybe I could compress them more.

For any listening advantage I suggest a minimum of 1M per minute (128kb/s). I also suggest an upper limit of 5 minutes per clip, making the upload max 5M (bigger clips can be made available via rapidshare.de or similar). As Music-Web has limited resources I would say this is a ok compromise, while I never rip to less than 192 kb/s myself (using LAME 3.97). Regards

Ok, I agree thanks for your help with this. I don't often use mp3s so I will change settings when I get home today. (My computer has been having a new hard drive fitted and the operating system reinstalled, so its been off limits for the last day or two)
