Server Housekeeping?

Just to ask if the people who run the servers are doing housekeeping (backups, live releases) at around 9am GMT? I usually get a few minutes around then but have a heck of a time trying to post things or the site just isn't up. Several days it's been the same.

This isn't a complaint, just seeking advice as I'll avoid this time if it's likely to be troublesome.

I know it isn't my service as I could get to other sites easily enough (eg Amazon, Play, etc)

Re: Server Housekeeping?

Hmm thats rather strange. Recently there has been many problems with our server and technicians have been working tirelessly to prevent them for happening.

Since you posted this message, has this occured again for you?

Re: Server Housekeeping?

Yes, 9am this morning - couldn't get in at all. Tried about half-an-hour ago, same. I'm none too sure how these things work, whether if the queue is too long (like the phone in my Drs surgery!) you get canned.

When this happens, I usually check other sites like Amazon, Play, the other music lot, sometimes ABRSM and all seems ok.

Anyway

Re: Server Housekeeping?

I investigated this over the last couple of days and I too noticed a sustancial difference in performance. It check the server logs and stats and the problem seems to be high server load. To remedy this we've upgraded to a more powerfull server to avoid problems. Please read the post here: Apologies for downtime
