Re: Help needed on short term..

Thanks mikexception.

Next question is: who has access to a great sound-database / virtual instruments and is willing to process the midi into something that sounds great? I must admit Finale + GPO isn't that good for this ensemble..

One day left, so let me know as soon as you can....
This also applies to comments on the new version..

Boneman: as you probably have noticed I did some tweaking, but want to express here that I really, REALLY appriciate what you've done already ! Thank you so much!

Thanks for all the help already,

Peter

Re: Help needed on short term..

All,

Attached is the latest version, including some error removal, adding dynamics and slurs etc.
The sound is from Finale GPO (still), but better..... I thought.

Is it worth entering into the contest?
If yes, I'm going to upload it tonight.

How about the glockenspiel; add it (a few tinkles) or leave it as it is?

Kind regards,

Peter

Peter - enter it - what can it hurt!

If you're concerned about your future reputation, you can always use a pseudonym :-).

I do miss the glock. Some, but not too much :-). Think nutmeg in your egg nog.

Oh yes! Peter - ALWAYS play through each of your parts individually - there's no better way to find things that might be funky that might otherwise be covered in combination. You also want to check important pairs or trios, etc. too. For example, if I have three parts doing accomp against a melody, I'll play that, but I'll also check each of the three accomp parts individually and as a whole (without the melody). If it's an outer voice pair and inner voice pair, I check the whole thing, and the pairs in addition to the individual line, and so on.

I once discovered I had asked a Bassoon to go ledger lines above the staff to ledger lines below the staff in one note - I missed it all the time because it was across a page turn in both the score and the parts (what a coincidence) - and I finally caught it when I played through the part individually!

Best,
Steve

Hi Steve,

But...... is it any good (now) ?

Peter

P.S. who cares about reputation... I'm having so much fun with it, even with the current time pressure.....

Re: Help needed on short term..

Well,

It's out there now... it's done.

With a little nutmeg and a lot of Boneman's help. THANK YOU !

Here's the link: Ode to The Season
lo-fi URL: http://www.soundclick.com/util/getpl...d=5961372&q=lo
hi-fi URL: http://www.soundclick.com/util/getpl...d=5961372&q=hi

Now I'm hoping you will all go and play it over and over, and/or download it (it's a free download; christmas spirit told me to give stuff away), and vote it high into the rankings....
That is, if you like it of course.

If you happen to know a brass quintet looking for a piece to play for the upcoming x-mas: let me know and I'll send you the nice looking, Boneman edited, score.

Enjoy !

Peter

Hi Boneman,

Good I guess. It gets played and even downloaded 2 times now... I'm now sitting back and relaxing, looking at the soundclick charts daily.

But seriously, I just started a new tune for my piano again. Just a few scribbles so far; this new one needs to stew for a while I think..

The composer in me can't keep to himself anymore......

Greetings and thanks again,

Peter

P.S. just got notification that it entered round 2 !
