Jazzy Xmas theme

Hello! I saw other Christmas threads, and this is also a bit late, so I thought I'd best post this in a separate thread.
Here is a jazzy christmas theme I made for a game. Sounds like the game wasn't finished, but the music is here.
The main theme is quite repeatitive, but it was kind of rushed thought it wouldn't matter much in an action game. Also I don't like how the final mix turned out, sounds rather poorly mixed. I still like the piece anyway.
Any comments?

Re: Jazzy Xmas theme

I think the rhythm on the piano reminds me of Brazilian music, although I might be wrong. Very jazzy piece overall. It sounds warm in a summer-like way, but still like christmas at the same time

I think the sax's (or some other brass instrument's) melody line is a bit too continuous. I couldn't hear it pause at all during the song. It's not bad, but I think this would be hard to play by a real saxophone player and it would be good to let the listener have a little breather every now and then. But this didn't really hinder the listening experience.

Other than that, I really liked this piece. It's light and warm chirstmas music, and I think the composition works well as a whole. Good job!

Nice and jolly, definitely Christmas/festive. Only point is, do you give the sax a chance to breathe? The ending seemed a bit dark and sad - to be honest I was expecting it to build into a right jangle of major harmony at the cadence but it rallentando-ed off in the minor.

Thank you for listening and for the nice comments! It's nice to get to know about mistakes I hadn't spotted.

It wasn't really intentional about the rhythm, but now that you mention it, it does remind me as well! Maybe it was unconscious?
I'm glad you think that way. I tried my best to make it sound christmas-ish, but I didn't want it to sound cold, so I opted for the lively/warm. I think it was the best choice for an action game

Ahaha! About the sax breathing, I didn't even think of that at all if I developed the melody further, it really would most probably sound better with a bit of breathing in between.
About the ending, when I was writing the last parts I suddenly thought "wait, maybe this will sound better with a little mood change..." and thought it would be nice if I went for the unexpected. I also expected it from the beginning to end all jolly, but I liked how it sounded surprising and left it that way. Maybe I should leave it the jolly way and it would be better for a game, but there's also the point that if I kept the harmony from all along the song to the end, it would be kind of hard to finish without much unexpectedness AND without a fade-out. (I seldom decide to use a fade-out!) So motto there is, if it's meant to be unexpected, be unexpected good! (ahaha)

I'm glad you like it, and I'm happy for the comments. One comment a day keeps a musician in the way! (I meant to say one comment a time makes big improvement )
Regards,
me
