Re: for Clara Adeline

Very nice - light and airy! Nice form - thinking of the slower section around 1.24, the interweave of fast and slow.
Excellent piano part. There were moments I felt it might dominate more during the tuttis where it's still being pianistic!

Only other comment is the heavy reverb that blurrs things slightly.

But...great!
cheers

Gosh Thanks Reith

i have a problem with reverb. it sounds right at home on my monitors but i get to work and play it...and it sounds washed.

i really should have more than one monitor set at home to preview at mastering.

Re: for Clara Adeline

I agree with the reverb... a bit too much

The writing is very nice! The exchanges of ideas from the piano and strings is gracefully done also I loved the decorative handeling of your flute writing.

The style sort of reminded me (more at the end) of a film score and it worked well. Good stuff

A really pleasant piece to listen to. As with a lot of synthetic music the listener has to get past that to envisage an acoustic performance, This piece is a perfect example of that.

I think that it would sound great in a live performance. Play it to your grand-daughter regularly!

Re: for Clara Adeline

Great piano chops and great writing here! I love when the strings take over the melody and the piano backs up and vice versa. Seems like I have heard this before somewhere. Maybe you posted it somewhere else.

I have to agree with the reverb thing-awash in places. I just got finished commenting on another post that it was way too dry. Fixing reverb (although not easy) is a lot easier than fixing a poor composition. So this reverb thing is not so bad!

Thanks for posting! And keep em coming! ...and I hope someone keeps this recording for your grandaughter for her future-this will mean a lot to her in the years to come. I did a piece (which I will post sooner or later-I am a brand new member) just for my 21 year old daughter and she said it brought tears to her eyes. One can't beat that! And I'm sure your piece will have an even more special place in your grandaughter's heart.
