Christmas Variations

My evil piano teacher asked me to take part in a student concert for Christmas holidays, and asked whether I could compose a small Christmas-themed piece that I could play there. This piece is the first attempt for that. It is based on my Binary Waltz, and I just tried to vary its theme. Mostly I based the variation on the same rhytmic figure that is introduced in the first phrase (the theme).

I don't know whether this sounds like Christmas, but it's the best I can do right now with all the school and other hassle. I'm gonna take the score to my piano teacher on Thursday and ask what she thinks. If she approves, all that is left for me to do is to actually learn to play it...

Here's the audio: Christmas Variations

Edit: I rewrote some of the bass line to make it less random. I don't have a score online yet, but I'll upload it if anyone misses it.
