Let me know what you think of this short piece for flute if you get a few minutes!

Re: Piece for Flute

Greeting Boneman,

A midi would be nice... Finale hates Sibelius files (for obvious reasons).

thanks,

Peter

Re: Piece for Flute

Greetings Boneman,

I liked the theme of this. Hey, I can spot the little baby-bird calling out for food in it if the 'ole imagination has it's way.

This calls, no yells, for a nice baroque / classical group like harpsichord and/or violins, viola, cello and doublebass to accompany it. Specially the lower ones like the viola, cello and the bass. Then it has the potential to double the theme in another register or a fifth lower, put a little canon it, contrast the fragile flute with some strong bass movement, then back in service of te flute..... etc. I can hear it already. I particularly likes the one before last measure; you should extend that and make the flute shine towards the end.

Thanks for sharing !

Peter

Re: Piece for Flute

I bow to your applause! I love writing for solo flute and have written quite a bit for flute ensembles of different sizes as well.

I think that the instrument can be haunting and cheeky!
