I think you did a good job. It's of course very Liszt-y. I know you like operating in this Romantic idiom, and I think you're aware of my disdain for people who continue to perpetuate this style of music long after it's interest has waned for most people, but if that's what you want to do, who's to stop you.

I wonder if you've heard Copland's "Cat and Mouse" or any of the Gottschalk Children's Pieces (or even Debussy's). It would be so nice to hear you branch out and embrace some other styles and incorporate them into a less "square" format. It all seems so "this is what is, and this is what it has to be" to me. Cat on a piano keyboard - you've got plenty to be adventurous with there.

Ok, enough of my whining. It's a really good piece of this type. Well done.
