prelude and fugue for piano Hi again, During my music study time, I wrote a prelude and fugue, not in the style of Bach but closer too our own time, I was exploring the more atonal music those days. Today I made a new recording of these two pieces. You can find them here: http://www.andrevanharen.com/preludeandfugue.htm they are very very different from my previous pieces! André

Re: prelude and fugue for piano Hi Andre, very cool stuff. Was this a performance or a composition exam? The main thing that strikes me is the "unity of thematic material". The prelude and fugue are very obviously based on the same theme, and the material in between theme entries of your fugue is also directly taken from the theme. You're right, it's not Bach, but it reminds me of Bach anyway: book I, B minor. That one also has all its connecting material directly derived from the theme head. It sounds great. Congratulations on a good composition, and I hope on passing your exam. Victor.

Re: prelude and fugue for piano Hi, Victor. I wrote this piece for my performance exam, and it was very difficult to play! I wrote it btw in 1990, I did my exam long time ago. But I made this recording last week, kind of rerecording old music. ANdré
