Six Miniatures for Guitar

Hi All.

I have been wanting to, for some time now, write a set of six little pieces for guitar (classical guitar) that each used only one string.

I've been hosting this first online composition lesson here on Music-Web Forums and the discussions I've had there inspired me (thanks guys!) to go ahead and put this together.

It is intended for student guitarists, in the hope that they will find it a little more unique (ergo interesting) than typical repertoire they have to play and it's not too challenging, though I tried to include a few modern styles and techniques, as well as things from the world of pop guitar.

Each piece is in order, low E to high E. I limited myself to certain notes in many cases:
6 - 8 note chromatic set
5 - 5 note diatonic set (A B C# D E)
4 - 6 note symmetrical set (D Eb G G# A C#)
3 - 6 note symmetrical set (G Ab B C Eb E)
2 - 6 note "blues" set (B D D# F# G A)
1 - 12 note chromatic.

The playback on Finale is sometimes funky - in both the A and the G pieces, strange things have crept in (turns, and trills - but the trills only happen sometimes and not others on the same symbol!!!!). So there may be some extreme differences from the score in some places, but in general, I think it's sufficient to hear what's happening.

I've got a little touching up on the score to do (some of those slurs look awful), but I think I'm pretty much done with it.

Hope you enjoy (if not, don't tell me :-)

Peace,
Steve
