Mannekin's Dance

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this thingy so I thought I'd open things up by putting one of my compositions on here.
I only had a Sibelius file of it and I don't know how to turn it into an mp3 (I have a .wav file but it won't load onto the attachments page!!) so sorry to those of you who can't play it!! I like the different themes in this although I think I need to make it a little longer or change the ending or something like that, but I want to keep it safely under 2 mins 30 secs...
Anyway all feedback is welcome except try to keep it positive?! haha, no all feedback is welcome!
Thanks

Hi, benny190891, and welcome to Music-Web

What can I say: Great piece! Good themes, good form, dramatic, fun, apt name…

Just good music!

Yay!

:EDIT: And I want to add two things: The score looks right! And I understand what you mean with wanting to polish, e. g. the ending. But then again, the ideas are rough, and fits the ending statement “Ok, I stop here. Deal with it.” in a cool way that I like, and sometimes use myself.

Regards

An interesting piece you have there, nice work. Even though it has notonal centre you manage to hold the piece together with your rhythmic motifs.

As with Thorolf the ending statement is cool, even though others may think otherwise.

Thanks for sharing

Made a high quality mp3 for you!

Here’s how: In Sibelius File->Export->Audio.
Resulting .aiff file encoded with LAME v3.97 (-q 0 -V 0)

Very nice! I think this kind of ending is very appropriate for this kind of compositions, adding to the tension and feeling built throughout it

Yeah I like that description of the ending-I kindov had that feeling about it but wasn't sure how to put it in words myself.

I really liked your use of rhythm in the piece to convey the dance movements. The whole piece works very well right down to the ending. I think you made great choices in you compositional approach to this piece.

Good job!
