Very nice work - I liked the intro...those mutation stops again (or you're playing in 5ths)! Not easy to play I should imagine. How many manuals has this instrument?

Superb registration/performance. You're obviously a maestro at the console!!
My only doubt was the ending - the work seems too short but, if this is the length you want it, felt better ending at 3:00 without the extra little coda. However, you are the composer...

What is so good is the variety in the registration that suggests that any prospective instrument would need a few pistons or about 5 manuals. You don't give yourself much time to change stops!

Regards,
Reith

i am a GREAT fan of mutation stops and reeds...as you can tell.

a previous reply will explain the sounds, so i won't repeat here.

this was written for a Organ performance major, at Westminster College, PA

her name is Shelly...hence.. the name

seems that everyone that has heard it...has commented on the ending...NOT favorably...kindof a RANDOM AMEN..HAHA

I'm amazed!! I've found another composer from ALABAMA on this site!! One who is also not connected with any university either, evidently. I used to work in electronics too, long ago when the computers we had took up most of the room but couldn't do nearly as much or as fast (even though we called them "real time") as the little laptop I'm writing from now.
I liked your organ piece-- a perky unique sound and phrasing that I liked. I don't know enough about organs to know what a mutation stop is, but I use a lot of parallel 5th's myself.
And I DO like the ending-- I hear the same phrase in a different form at the beginning, so it makes it sort of a return, I think--cut very short, which seems effective to my ears. It sounds like a short chorale phrase to me, which makes me think of the "chorales," as Erik Satie called them, that open and close his Parade, a weird piece I like very much. There are also sequences that seem to me to refer back to Bach in the middle, that I like your sound on.
I'm going to check out some of your other music now! Good to see you here-- I'm not alone down here in Mobile!
