Tango

Another Tango. This one uses the folia chord progression that was discussed on another thread here.

Hi ttw,

This is one nice tango you made here. I like your melodies and the rhythmic. Fantastic! Any chance of sharing the score (for me to learn how to write down some ofthese structures on paper if I hear it in my head) ?
The only thing I could think of that I would do different perhaps is that I would use the strength of silence more to build up the passion and tension that a tango truly deserves; In some spots the right hand chord continues where I would make it a tiny bit shorter and create a mini-silence (not disturbing the base-rhythm ofcourse). And I would put in more volume changes too. It all heats up the fire that is undoubtably in it already.

Thanks for sharing ! You inspired me to explore this too.

Peter

Fun stuff! Very nice. (And of course it's based on La Folia, so bonus points for that!)

If I may offer a comment: your tango has several sections, but they all flow into each other pretty seamlessly and don't offer a lot of contrast. I think this piece could use a bit of contrast. Listen to some argentine tangos, and you'll often see some very lyrical midsection in the composition. I kind of miss that in this tango.

Otherwise very enjoyable.

Victor.
