Smile The happy piano player

Hi All,

After a very rewarding piano lesson I had this good mood and dreamt up this little tune. This is made in a record time of (the past) 2 days and I am now in doubt whether I shall go on (I can think of more variations to the tune) or just leave it as it is now.
What do you guys / girls think (of it) ?

As always suggestions for improvement, enrichment are very welcome and come to think of it:
Anyone who can play it on a live instrument (to add the human touch, dynamics and joy that Finale doesn't give me) and send me a mp3 recording of it on short term (I want to give this as a birthday present next Sunday for the one who gave me my composing books for my birthday) would have my immense gratitude !

I've added the score as usual. It will be a good exercise in playing trills when I'm further along with my lessons.....

Thanks in advance for listening, commenting, playing, helping me,

Peter

Here's a link to the mp3: http://www.sendspace.com/file/manocz

Hi Boneman,

Strange, the sendspace link works fine over here. Did you see the flashing arrow in the middle of all the advertisements on the sendspace page? there's where you need to click to download the mp3.

The attachments I cannot open too, but Maestro is working on that as apparently more attachements have that.

I hope this helps,

Peter

Thumbs up

Oooh, great it works now!
Haha, what a cute little piece, I love it!
I agree that to get it's full potential you would need a live performance, but I can imagine!
I thought that you could definitely elaborate with more themes and variations and stuff like that, in my opinion being over ambitious is better than cautious!!
OK well over all that's great, I might even do my own little invention on it when I get some time!
Regards, Benny

You're improving at a wonderful rate! This is a very lovely composition, so light and easy, perfect for a gift! I do agree with Benny though, you definitely have some room for more themes and variations there.

Keep up the good work!

Ron / Benny,

Thanks guys. I had so much fun having this in my head and getting it on paper without loosing the feel. In the mean time the score is growing again but I still intend to give this as it is now for her birthday. I'm afraid it will be the human playback of Finale to make it heard, unless someone wants to play it live tonight and send me the mp3 ?

Anyway, thanks for listening and those kind words !

Peter

I agree, a lovely piece Peter. Do me a favour and transpose it a little higher and let me know what you think. I think that it needs to come out of the middle register of the piano. It would be ace on a harpsichord!

Hi Boneman; how much higher do you have in mind? At first I'd say it's perfectly fit for C major so that would be an octave higher then, but I guess that's not what you have in mind....?

Hi Benny, and everyone else come to think of it; you are all very invited to invent, vary as much as you like but do me this little favor; send me a copy of your products (in score if possible)?

greetings and thanks for the lovely words !

Peter
