An Afternoon in Guadeloupe for flute solo... http://www.sarahce.plus.com/music/guadeloupe.mp3 Please right click and save the file on your pc if you want to listen rather than going to the page, as my website doesn't support much bandwidth! Sheet music: http://www.sarahce.plus.com/music/aftrnng1.PDF http://www.sarahce.plus.com/music/aftrnng2.PDF (not sure if both these files work properly but if you want to see it and you can't, please let me know...) This is a piece I composed some time ago (June '05 according to the music) for solo flute, I wrote the first bit and a friend commented "Did you go to Guadeloupe??" and the inspiration to finish the piece was born. Hope you enjoy it....

Re: An Afternoon in Guadeloupe for flute solo... Hi. A nice piece well played within the limits of what the recording can say. The use of 'diminisheds' and minor key definitely give a Latin tropical mood. Have no comment about the composition other than it's pleasant. Have you thought of making it part of a suite? ![]() Reith

Re: An Afternoon in Guadeloupe for flute solo... I did intend it to be part of the suite: various bits and pieces came and went as other movements but nothing quite made it to the final cut... maybe one day something will! I had sunrise, birdsong, a market scene and a festival... nothing worked out though ![]()
