The White Room This is a short demo I did when I was asked by a production company for a score track involving only piano and strings. The White Room

Re: The White Room Interesting, what sort of scene was the music accompanying? The piano seemed a little heavy on the recording. What samples/vst are you using?

Re: The White Room Hi MaestroX, there was no scene description, I was given just the instruments requirement = piano and occasional cello. It was a rush job, I came up with this in about 45 minutes, so I didn't really have much time to play with VST selection and sounds. That's why the piano is a little heavy and cello sounds more like a string section... ![]() Those sounds are all from CakeWalk Dimension Pro VST.

Re: The White Room I think its not bad, but it sounds little plastic. The piano is too sharp for my ears and strings are flat, without some expresions, modulation... But not bad...

Re: The White Room The piece is very nice - relaxing. I didn't think the strings were flat - I'm usually sensitive to intonation (being an occasional string player) but it may have been the brightness of the piano tone that gives that impression. I really like the simplicity of harmonies like this that work well in a piece of this length. My one comment is that the piano bass is too loud at 0.28"...I had to turn the volume down a bit but then the treble got a bit obscured. Was your piano source velocity-sensitive? (I have one that isn't so I run into a few problems of balance - usually means adjusting the midi list a lot). Nice. reith.

Re: The White Room Very nice. I personally like the sound of a brighter/sharper piano. The entrance of the strings give an added freshness that seems to happen just at the right time. Almost in the nick of time. Good job!
