Composing for Video Games

Hey everyone,

This is a really cool community! I just discovered it. Well, I guess I'll start by sharing my music with you guys and see what you think. I compose music for video games. I hope you enjoy! I'd especially like comments on the first piece on the website called "Inspiration Theme." The real title is "The World Should Envy Them," but I changed it for demo purposes.

Re: Composing for Video Games

Nice pieces - suited well to change / respond to unpredictable nature of user actions in video games - that being said, you might want to show how these pieces would react to different emotions or situations in a game - what would happen if the action started to get "hot" or slowed down, what would happen if the emotions changed - happy, angry, sad, etc...

Do you have any samples from titles you've scored? Any reason you're limiting your services to video games? It's a very tough market to crack! Have you thought of scoring for picture or other media?

Cheers, D

Hi Stephen,

Just listened to your demo reel and I think you're a great composer. I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing some music for a James Bond fan game called Death Comes To Us All?

I'm a computer game developer hobbyist, computer artist and writer. The only thing I can't do, yet, is compose.

As I am a student, I can't pay anything however you will be fully credited. I can guarantee that you will not be wasting your time as I definately intend completing the game.

Full details about the game, including work in progress demos and screenshots can be found at http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=128823 and the script for the game's cutscenes can be found at http://pc.celtx.com/project/m7y4xgKhqLKh which is updated regularly. However, please note that the demo's and screenshots no longer do the game justice as the graphics/gameplay have be drastically improved since the last demo release.

If you are interested then please get in touch.

Thanks

Salman
