| Music for Theatre - Alice in Wonderland So here are some excerpts from my latest project, Alice in Wonderland. Very cool production. I actually struggled on this particular production -- had my first experience with writers-block. But needless to say, after four days (which is a LIFETIME when you only have three weeks to score the whole play) the music came to me and I was able to finish just in time. The biggest challenge of scoring for theatre is that you don't have instant playback. You can't score a scene and go back and watch it right away. Sometimes it may be three or four days before the actors rehearse that scene again, then you get one or two good chances to figure out what worked and didn't work about the music and correct it. I think I've gotten really good at timing scenes, memorizing blocking and choreography, because most every scene is tailored pretty darrn well. But like anything, the more you do it, the better ya get. -- You should see me acting out scenes when I'm composing...pretty funny. Here are some excerpts. --My favorites are Mad Hatter's Tea Party, Collar that Dormouse, and Falling Up. -- Hope you enjoy! Might be harder than you think. |

| Re: Music for Theatre - Alice in Wonderland Thank you guys for taking the time to listen. Glad you enjoyed. To answer your question Rock, I didn't really go out persuing Alice in Wonderland. I work as composer and sound designer for the theater, so this is just one of the projects I worked on for the season. Thanks again guys! Chris |
